i have a trade basically worked out with a friend, just waiting on him to get home to accept it.
i give dunn/dempster/aviles i get uggla/billingsley
should i be at all hesitant to get billingsley after his strained groin yesterday? i know they said its precautionary, but that could linger... he said i could ahve either beckett or billingsley.
C Sandoval 1B Fielder 2B Aviles 3B Wright SS Drew OF Manny, Kemp, Bruce UTIL Dunn BN Wieters, Maybin, C Pena SP Webb, Shields, Gallardo, Grienke, Dempster, Harang, Kershaw
I think its a good trade for you. You can now afford to put Pena or Weiters (when he comes up) or Maybin in that Utility spot and you have Uggla taking over for Aviles. Sounds good to me. I'd take Billingsley or Beckett, but I think I actually prefer beckett here.
I do it and take Billingsley. A healthy beckett is slightly better, but who's to say he'll stay healthy. Bills is a keeper. Uggla is essentially Dunn at a thinner position (2b) so it comes down to Dempster/Avilas for Bills. Do it. Plus you get to add a FA.

exactly, i will be adding a RP. probably gregg or motte, seems people are still sleeping in this league

I agree with this, and get Bills, don't mess with beckett, i think complete opposite i think totally healthy for both id take Bills with better stats then beckett... and as for the RP addition get Gregg not Motte... Gregg if hes not closing on opening day it won't be long after, Marmol is better suited for setup and long relief and the cubs know that or they wouldn't have gotten Gregg and Gregg is looking solid in ST... on the other hand Motte i don't think holds the closer job long as Perez will be taking it over (rehabing and getting back up to game speed)...
I like the deal and would have no problem with either pitcher, tossup in my opinion. Beckett has the best two seamer in baseball, I have no idea how any right hander can hit it, filthy movement.
