Potential Breakouts in KC?

What are your thoughts of breakout years for Gordon, Butler and Dejesus? Which of these are you targeting this year?

I'm not specifically targeting any of them, but I don't think the term breakout will apply to DeJesus. You know what you're getting with him, very solid/steady 5-cat production. His upside is very limited but so is his downside. As for Gordon/Butler, they both definitely have breakout potential (Gordon moreso than Butler IMO) and they are worth targeting fairly late.

I've done 3 14 team drafts so far this year and I own no offensive Royals player. They are either not worth drafting or tend to get drafted earlier than i'm willing take them. These guys just don't scream breakout to me....slow gradual progression, sure but I'd eat my shoe if they just all of a sudden "broke out" big.

Coco Crisp on offense and Kyle Davies pitching. Of the ones you mentioned, Gordon is probably the most likely to break-out. But to get him in a draft you are likely going to have to overpay for that breakout chance. DeJesus is what he is, if he can repeat last year then most will be very happy but he is not ever going to be a real fantasy stud.

I could see Gordon put up Beltre type numbers. DeJesus might 'break out' by just getting more R/RBI from moving down in the lineup. Crisp getting fulltime play should help his stats. Davies has looked good though I'm still dubious.

Yea, IMO Gordon has the biggest shot at breaking out. But he has been going way too early for my taste

But nowadays when I hear "breakouts in KC" my first thought is who is going to escape.

I think the best candidate is Teahen although he will probably get moved at some point.
