Wondering how everyone thinks things will work out in Cleveland with Garko, Hafner, Martinez and Shoppach. My focus is will Shoppach get enough AB's to be a fantasy option at C.

Well, no one really knows, but I am counting on Shoppach getting around 450 AB. V-Mart will play a lot I think, but not mainly at catcher. I do think Garko could maybe get 400 AB if he plays a little bit in the OF, and comes in when Hafner/Vmart/Shoppach are a little banged up.

Shoppach will probably get a lot of AB's with Hafner sitting the bench against lefties. Hafner historically hits lefties just as good as he hits righties but I think at this point Cleveland might use any excuse they can find to give Shoppach PT over him. Garko probably gets close to full PT like last season.

Shoppach and Hafner will lose a lot of playtime, Garko will get his ABs with some of them coming in the OF. VMart will get his ABs as well.

Unless Garko gets off to a hot start I think he'll start losing PT to LaPorta sometime around June. And also as the season moves on Garko will be the guy they want to keep on the bench but injuries force him into the lineup. 300-350 PA's.

I've seen LaPorta field so I definitely think he'll be stealing AB from the DH spot and not the OF ones. He is probably stretched defensively at DH too!
