Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
i like Jones and Murphy more than Dukes. Dukes is a wild card, literally. plus that OF in Washington is crowded. i think Jones gets an edge over Murphy. one reason being Jones is pretty much guaranteed playing time in Baltimore, where Murphy could lose playing time to the other Mets OF. Jones is expected to bat 2nd between Roberts and Markakis. im expecting big numbers from Jones. he might even break your starting OF giving you an option to trade one of the others for help elsewhere.
I think since it's for a bench player I would take the player with the highest upside. I know many will disagree here but I think Jones will be lucky to go 275/15/10 this season. Dukes will have the lesser average obviously but I think will beat him across the board. I'm a Murphy fan obviously and he's a good sleeper in deeper leagues but doubt he has the power to be in the conversation. I do think he will out-BA Jones though and Dukes for sure.

for me another vote on Jones he could surprise alot of people this year plus he will hit behind Roberts and in font of Nick not a bad sandwich to be in.
