1st timer here-- i think i had a bad draft! Help me recover

Looking for opinions on what i did right and wrong on draft day. I've played fantasy football for a couple years and have done well, especially through waivers. I feel like i made some mistakes not fully understanding the system for fantasy baseball. First let me say i'm in 12 team public yahoo league, head to head(5x5). Well let me know what you think, be honest with me, tell me what i need to do to fix some of the mistakes i've made. I had the 12th pick in the draft(of course)

1 Rollins 8 R. Doumit 15 W. Taveras
2 Lincecum 9 B. Jenks 16 H. Matsui
3 B. Roberts 10 C. Marmol 17 Ub. Jimenez
4 A. Ramirez 11 N. Cruz 18 T. Glaus
5 A. Dunn 12 A. Either 19 T. Hafner
6 D. Lee 13 B. Hawpe 20 J. Smoltz
7 J. Bruce 14 J. Denks 21 M. Lindstrom

I'm pretty sure that i drafted some people alot earlier than i should have, also feel like i lack HR and RBI, not good! I also feel like i lack starting pitching. I went into the draft blind, not even knowing how this works, but i'm a quick learner and looking to fill needs through waiver wire. Here is a list of people on the wire:

Bats: Adam Laroche, J. Franceur, Kouzmanoff, Byrnes, C. Blake, Sheffield
SP: Wellemeyer, Pettite, Volstad, Sonnanstine, W. Rodriguez, Arroyo, R. Hill, R. Wolf, Parra, J. Sanchez, A. Galaragga
RP: Percival, Corcoran, Arredondo, Corpas, R. Franklin, Putz, F. Rodney

Ok, so give me advice on where i messed up, and how to fix it, by dropping and picking up people on waivers(FA). Thanks for taking the time to read this long post, and thanks for advice..........................

Welcome to the Cafe! To make things easier on everyone who reads this, you may want to post your roster like this:

C - Doumit (RD 8)
1B - Lee (RD 6)

and so on...there's also a spot on your profile page where you can store your roster and list it easier using the "ROSTER" tag button above. Go to User Control Panel and then select the Profile tab.

The post has been up for a day, not like anyone was gonna help anyway..........but i probably went overboard with the idiot comment.....i apologize. Just that i took a lot of time to type out my question and roster, and i knew nobody would help.........

Yep. There's a lot of these posts on this board apparently (mine included), and it needs to be easy on the eyes as possible.

First, I welcome you to the Cafe. Then I give you advice on ways to generate responses. Then I give you a tip to make it easier to post your roster in all of your posts.

Then, you call me dumb and an idiot.

But, you know what? I'm bigger than that so I'm still willing to help you out.

BUT, we have no idea what your league settings are. Does every player start? Do you play CI or MI? Util? How many OF? Is it just OF spots or is it CF, LF, RF? How many SP's? How many RP's? And this is why we post the roster when asking advice. I'll give you a start:

C - Doumit (Rd 8)
1B - Lee (Rd 6)
2B - Roberts (Rd 3)
3B - Ramirez (Rd 4)
SS - Rollins (Rd 1)
OF - Bruce (Rd 7)
OF - Cruz (Rd 11)
OF - Ethier (Rd 12)
Util - Dunn (Rd 5)
BN - Hawpe (Rd 13)
BN - Taveras (Rd 15)
BN - H Matsui (Rd 16)
BN - Glaus (Rd 18)
BN - Hafner (Rd 19)

SP - Lincecum (Rd 2)
RP - Jenks (Rd 16)
P - Marmol (Rd 10)
P - Danks (Rd 14)
P - Jimenez (Rd 17)
P - Smoltz (Rd 20)
P - Lindstrom (Rd 21)

Now, what you need to do is fix this. Take the "BN" and give them a starting spot if you have more than one UTIL, or CI or MI, or anything else I listed above. Change the pitching.

The only way to elicit responses is to make it easy on the people who read the post to get to the information easily.
