Haren/Nolasco for Rios/Hawpe?

Postby chargersfan36 » Mon Mar 23, 2009 11:27 pm

I just finished up a draft in a 14 team 8x8 H2H league (TB, OPS, Grand Slams, Losses, Hits, Holds). I kind of overdid it on the pitching... by a lot. I knew I'd have some work to do afterwords evening out my team so here's a start.

I offered my Haren/L. Scott for Rios/Hermida and he countered with this:

My Haren/Nolasco for Rios/Hawpe.

My roster:
C - Napoli
1B - Votto
2B - Aviles
3B - D. Wright
SS - Barmes
CI - Sandoval
MI - C. Getz
OF - Bay
OF - Ludwick
OF - L. Scott
OF - Church
OF - Daniel Murphy
Util - M. Jacobs
Util - Blalock
SP - Sabathia
SP - Haren
SP - Liriano
RP - Qualls
RP - F. Francisco
RP - Devine
P - Saito
P - T. Pena
P - E. Ramirez
P - Madson
BN - J. Chamberlain
BN - Scherzer
BN - E. Santana
BN - Nolasco
BN - Duchsherer
BN - K. Escobar

Do you think I should take that trade? I'm leaning against it because I'm not very high on Rios. Also as far as draft picks go, it would be my 4.11 and 11.04 for his 4.14 and 11.01. So we're both moving up, but him in the 4th and me in the 11th.

Should I try targeting C. Lee or Holliday (who he took at 2.14 and 3.01) on his team instead of Rios? Thanks.

No. Top 5 and top 15 pitchers for an above-average OF and a below-average OF. You can do better.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think this would be a good offer?

My CC for Holliday/Hawpe or J. Upton.

That's a bit tougher. Sabathia and Holliday are both 2nd rounders. I'd prefer Sabathia of the two, but throw in the tantalizing upside of Upton and that swings it the other way. I'd take the deal.
