Draft position

Postby abrage22 » Mon Mar 23, 2009 6:29 pm

Do you find that the higher spot u have in the draft is the best? I got the 2nd pick and was offered to swap picks for the 5th spot, I'd like it because I want either wright or reyes instead of a 1b in pujols in the first round, plus I'm targeting beltran in the 2nd, so id have a better shot at him. So what are your thoughts on draft position? Btw its 10 teams with CI and MI... Thoughts?

Draft position doesn't matter much. I know some like different positions. Here are some things I've heard over the years.

1. I like the middle of the pack because there is not a long wait between rounds and I don't lose out when there is a run.
2. I like the last 2 spots because I can pick 2 studs in the 1-2 rounds.
3. I like the first 2 or 3 spots because I get one of the 3 best players in the draft.

Bottom line, you can draft a solid team from ANY position in the draft. I have won from various draft spots over the years. In a snake draft all positions are equal. Don't tie yourself to a favorite draft position.

good luck
