The guy puts up Pujols-type numbers when he is in the right mindset...
I mean I guess there is age, unpredicability, and other things to consider but this guy is going late 3rd in a lot of drafts, but should put up first round numbers if healthy - he seems to me like he should be an easy 2nd rounder... the guy has a 2 year contract with a player option for the 2nd year so he needs to come through this year....
where do you have him ranked?
5x5 H2H, NK 10 teams C- JP 1B- Voto 2B- Zobri 3B- ARam SS- Rolins OF- J. Uptn, Choo, A. Gordn UTIL- Fielder BN- C. Crawfrd SP- Hamls, Bumgarner, Galardo, I. Kenedy, Fister, Kurda, Minr, Dempstr, Burnet, Ogando RP- Cishek, Veras, Parnel
1. Manny is a 37 year old OF. 2. He has been plagued with leg problems the past couple of years and plays in the NL with no DH option. 3. He is no longer in a contract year. That was last year. (Motivation?) 4. I'm sure some of the revenge factor with Boston has worn off a bit. (Motivation?) 5. He is already injured and missing ST games. (See #1)

But he's under 6'5" so he can hit for power and average.

Not playing for a contract isn't entirely true. He has an option after this year in his contract. Means if he has a great year he can buy his option and go on the market for more money. Not saying that will happen, but it is possible. So he does have something to play for.
He has been going mid to late 2nd round in my drafts.
