Quentin and E. Santana for Berkman

Postby daved » Mon Mar 23, 2009 3:31 pm

Hey, new to the forum, just had this trade proposed to me in my Yahoo 12-team H-2-H league
5x5 scoring (runs, rbi, homers, steals, avg, wins, saves, strikeouts, era, whip)
We start standard positions + 1 utility, 2 starting pitchers, 2 relief pitchers, and 3 pitchers

I Give: Lance Berkman

I Get: Carlos Quentin and Ervin Santana

I had Quentin on my roster last year and loved him before the injury, Santana is good too, but I'm not quite sold yet as he struggles away from home. Also, does anyone know the extent of his injury? I know that he may be starting the year on the DL. If I accepted I would probably drop either Church or Francoeur to make room

My rosters looks like this:

C- Ryan Doumit
1B- Lance Berkman
2B- Chase Utley
SS- Rafael Furcal
3B- Adrian Beltre
OF- Ichiro
OF- Adam Dunn (Also eligible at 1B)
OF- Justin Upton
Util- Jason Giambi
Bench- Mike Cameron
Bench- Hideki Matsui
Bench- David DeJesus
Bench- Jeff Francoeur
Bench- Ryan Church

SP- Roy Halladay
SP- Cliff Lee
RP- Brad Lidge
RP- Bobby Jenks
P- Bronson Arroyo
P- Joel Hanrahan
P- Max Scherzer

I think Santana is gonna end up having surgery (just a hunch).

Everything together. I still like Quentin by margin over Berkman. Play up the arm issue with Santana and see if they will give up a tad more. Santana is a question mark right now.

Quick. Help pick my next player. Thanks for help.
