Hamels, Bills Trade. WHIR!!!

Postby Xezus » Mon Mar 23, 2009 3:17 pm

I was just offered

His: Cole Hamels and Ubaldo Jimenez
for
My: Chad Billingsley and Scott Kazmir

He is in another league of mine and knows that im a big Phillies fan so hes probably thinking he can get me to give up some more for Hamels.

I was thinking of Countering with:

Hamels, Jimenez, Bruce
For
Billingsley, Kazmir, C. Young (OF)

I figured Bruce would help more than C. Young this year. Should i be worried about Hamels Elbow? Billingsley has enough upside to match Cole Hamels in Production i think and Kaz is still a great pitcher at least to me.

Heres my team and league info

12 team H2H 8x8 cats 7 keepers (1st year of league)

C-Martin
1B-Pujols
2B-Phillips
3B-Cantu
SS-Jeter
OF-Beltran
OF-Cruz
OF-Young
Util-Delgado
BN- Delmon Young, Butler

SP-Santana (Johan), Billingsley, Kazmir, Joba, Scherzer, Malhom, Parra
RP-Fuentes, Corpas, Motte

Im leaning towards not accepting the first trade, but should i propose the second?

Thanx for any help!

i like the second trade. mostly because i love hamels and i think kazmir is one of the most overated guys in baseball. i mean when is he going to be reliable and play a whole season? until he proves that i would avoid him on my team.

No way, no way, no way.

The gap between Bills and Hamels is slight--and Bills is only going to get better.

Meanwhile, the gap between UJ and Kazmir is gigantic.

You'd be essentially trading two #2 pitchers with #1 upside for a #1 and a #5 starter.

Stinky deal.

I think you should just stay put.

If you really want bruce, which I dont think helps too much, then the 2nd deal is OK

Your team could use upgrades in: Saves and Stolen Bases. He's not in a position to help you with relievers, but perhaps you could pry Ellsbury away from him.
