Kevin Gregg or Huston Street???

Postby TheGhost » Mon Mar 23, 2009 2:08 pm

I realize that both of these guys haven't officially won the closer posiution yet. Just wondering if it's a safe bet to drop Street for Gregg? Don't want to miss on the Cubs closer if I have a chance at him. Thanks!

Street has the much better chance of being a closer throughout the year. He was the main peice in the Holliday trade, he's getting paid much more and he is arguably superior to Corpas.

The Cubs don't have nearly as much invested in Gregg and Marmol is the much better pitcher of the two. I think Street is garbage and this is sort of like having to pick between bedding Roseanne Barr and Rosie O'Donnell where there is no real appealing choice. But Street is the man between the two. Ugh - that was hard to type.

Eh. I was afriad someone was going to say that. I also have Chad Qualls and Heath Bell. Should I drop Street since I already have 2 closers? Would you rate Street ahead of Qualls and Heath? Thanks.

Bell and Qualls > Street.

Is anyone else available--Motte for example?

;-D ;-D I would rate Heath WAY above Street. Qualls gets the nod because Melvin is very faithful to his closers so his job should be secure.

In my opinion, Gregg has the better chance to close all season. Corpas is more valuable to COL in the 9th and Marmol is too valuable in situational relief to designate him to the 9th inning only. Please help with mine if you get a sec.
