Since the autodraft, I traded Borowski and Vidro for Pierre and Redding. I also picked up Lieber off waivers. Picked 10th in the league and got Manny with my first pick. This draft went a lot smoother (less crazy) than the first one.

As you can tell, this one's a little more balanced. But amazing, there were a lot of teams reaching for players in the early rounds. Best player available strategy isn't that bad at all. In this league (13 teams), I chose 10th and got Pedro and then Nomar on the way back.

Interesting, in the first three teams at least I noticed a trend of securing scarce stud infielders and leaning towards young speculative starting pitching. I generally like this strategy as well, though I usually try to lock up one proven stud pitcher early.

The first league doesn't sound too competitive, Soriano at 10th overall and Contreras goes undrafted?

Well, Contreras was drafted in the 9th round in that league, and then dropped in a waiver pickup. ;-)
So I snatched him up.

Basically, what I like about these teams is that they have solid offenses, and some closers that can be traded for starting pitching.

I don't see why people are saying they prefer position lists instead of overall rankings. It's the same thing, except you have an idea of how much better one guy is over the next guy at his position. For example, A-Rod is #1, and Nomar is #10. 9 spot difference. But in a positional ranking, they would appear as a 1 spot difference. Vlad and Beltran are 1 spot apart on both lists. Which is much more helpful than simple positional rankings.

If you really only want positional rankings, put those into excel and sort by position.

Good list, Swarmee ;-D

Amazingly, the guys you think I have too high were all drafted before I had a shot at them. I look for a great season from Kim, based on his strong cursory numbers as a starter. Since these are 5x5 Roto (non-HTH), steals are important. I'm not a big fan of Pineiro, so someone else takes him before he's on my draft horizon.

swarmee,
Can you add age and where the players were born to your list next year?? 8-o

Your list must be good or you're intimidating people with your presence since every other list has been reamed in the cafe. B-)
