John Lannan on fire?

What should be made of Lannan's scoreless sprong? He will throw 200 innings but not K too many. Would he be a serviceable option?

As long as you pay close attention and watch when you start him, he can be very serviceable.

That it is spring training and half of the batters he's faced will be in AA or AAA when the season starts.

I think he's a very solid back of the rotation guy to play against the right matchups. Of course I tend to draft for upside that late and then cut the ones that don't pan out and pick up the Lannan types as the season goes on, but he should be good on the ratios for you late.

NL only leagues I like him alot as a sleeper.

Mixed leagues depending on the roster/league size I would take him late. Not many K's coming out of that arm, but is puts up quality starts quite often. 21 quality starts last year if I remember correctly. Good ratio help, but not a ton of wins or K's. But someone has to get the wins when the Nats do win, and I like Lannan for 12+ of those wins.

Would he be more valuable to my squad than Chris Volstad? 14 team H2H: Point per K, no neg. points per hit allowed. My staff looks like this...

Lincecum, Tim SP SF
Slowey, Kevin SP MIN
Vazquez, Javier SP
Young, Chris R. SP SD
Jenks, Bobby RP CHW
Soria, Joakim RP KC

Cueto, Johnny SP CIN
Volstad, Chris SP FLA
Gregg, Kevin RP CHC
