Depending on how many teams are in your league, but at first glance your team looks solid. If it is a Dynasty or Keeper, at some point you will need to acquire a catcher. If this is a one year league, you look to be a contender.
Nicely done!! Assuming yearly and 12 teams your looking good. People forget that Matsui can hit, and primarily DHing will keep him in the lineup. Kelly Johnson will also be very steady at 2B.
Carpenter's having a great spring, and the rest of your staff is very balanced, headlined by Shields.
Even in a keeper you look good, although the previous poster does make a point about C, as Sandoval may not retain C eligibility, but you have the pieces to do that later in the season.
Like your OFers but I love your 1b/3b even more. However, I think you have some question marks with your pitching staff. I would move Lee to get an upgrade since the underestimated Matsui is always a good source for RBIs, AVG and HR.
Shields and Greinke are solid 2/3 guys. Gallardo, Young, and Carpenter are all gigantic question marks. 1 young guy and 2 injuries is awfully worrisome. Depending on how that shapes out, you could either be competitive in pitching (say 4-5 out of the 12) or near the dredges. I think Gallardo and Young bounce back/up. Don't know about Carpenter...
i like it mostly. i like Johnson at 2B. if the Braves plan on batting him 3rd he could have really nice numbers. one of the names i dont like is Snider (im a Jays fan too). his AVG from last season is very unlikely to repeat. with his .301 AVG he had .417 BABIP with 34.6 LD%. numbers unlikely to be repeated. his strikes out alot, Adam Dunn type alot. IMO hes going to have an AVG closer to .250/.260 than .300. he still does have the power potential, just dont be counting on .300 AVG.
if Rios is running you should be OK in steals. i still might try and look for someone who can give you more steals.
i think Greinke is the question mark in pitching. in 2007 he had 122 IP (with 14 starts) and then in 2008 he had 202 IP. thats a big increase from one season to the next and could mean trouble in 2009. he might be good/OK, but hes a risk. Young is healthy should bounce back to numbers he had before last season.
