Big trade help, from the ground up! WHIR

Postby mister_jay_peg » Mon Mar 23, 2009 12:03 am

It's a Yahoo H2H, 10 team, 6x6. (Add TB's and Hld's) Kept 4 hitters and 2 pitchers from a team I picked up midway thru last season.

I'm locked on speed with Roberts, Rollins, Ellsbury and Victorino, but in a 10 team league, I'm pretty light on power. I know I can get some solid value, but to be honest, I'm not at all great at formulating trades. Judging and comparing ones sent to me? Sure, no problem. Making 'em? BAD...

If anyone is interested in helping, the whole league is posted here: http://www.geocities.com/jgreening072/keeper13.txt

My team is below...

Thanks everyone!

C: Doumit
1B: Dunn
2B: Roberts (K)
SS: Rollins (K)
3B: Longoria (K)
OF: Ellsbury (K)
OF: Bay
OF: Victorino
Util: C Jackson
Util: Hawpe

SP: Sabathia (K)
SP: Kazmir (K)
SP: Harang
RP: Rivera
RP: Ryan
RP: Motte
P: Slowey
P: Garza
P: Parra

Bench: Morrow
Bench: Wheeler
Bench: OPerez
Bench: Loney
Bench: JLopez
Bench: Snider

it looks to me like you did very well in the draft. if you are not comfortable with making trades, dont make any for at least a couple months. Your team should be fine and looks balanced, so don't make a deal except to fill a clear need, and when you do this, just target a team that has excess in the type of player you need and is in need of something you have an an abundance of. If you focus trades on needs, as opposed to just making deals to make them in hopes of getting the better end of the deal, I feel it makes them a lot easier to wrap your head around.

Team looks nice.

I would put Loney at UTL instead of Connor Jackson.

If Harang gets off to a good start you could try and move him along with Connor Jackson for some power, but I think your team has good power.

You have Dunn, Longoria, Rollions should put up more than last year. Bay has a short porch in Boston, I expect his to power to go up a little bit.

I like your team overall
