Thome or Konerko? WHIR

Postby Leiter Fan » Sun Mar 22, 2009 5:26 pm

I play in a 6x6, H 2 H daily transaction keeper league that counts OPS and holds. I was looking to add some pop to my lineup, so I added Jim Thome yesterday. I'm wondering though if I might be better with Paul Konerko, since he looks healthy again, and also gives me 1B eligibility to back up Pujols on off-days. Any thoughts? As always, I'll answer any of yours in return - just post a link.

Here is my roster:

C: Geovany Soto (C)
1B: Albert Pujols (1B)
2B: Aaron Hill (2B)
3B: Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
SS: Khalil Greene (SS)
LF: Carlos Lee (LF)
CF: Ichiro Suzuki (CF, RF)
RF: Bobby Abreu (RF)
Util: Jim Thome (UTIL)
Bench: Felipe Lopez (2B, 3B, SS, LF)

SP: Tim Lincecum, Francisco Liriano, Chad Billingsley, Chris Carpenter, Erik Bedard, Max Scherzer, (and John Smoltz, who will go to the DL when eligible)
RP: Mariano Rivera, Matt Capps, Brandon Lyon, Manuel Corpas, Chris Ray

Thanks guys.

Thome. Konerko is in serious decline, and his 1b eligibility isn't enough to make up for it.

Please help with mine:

Nice team. I typically prefer Thome and his edge increases more with OPS as a category. The only year Konerko posted a higher a OPS was Thome's lost (injured) 2005 season. Hang onto Thome.
