I'll go first, I'm not shy :-D

1. What was your draft strategy?

As hitting heavy as I could manage, no closers till round 10+. Something a little different from last year. I was looking at Holliday or B.J Upton for pick 20, and they got taken consecutively before me. Lincecum is pretty amazing for someone I felt I was forced to take :-B .

2. Who do you think was the steal of the draft?

Clay Buchholz with pick 307 could be pretty terrific, and Willy Taveras with his 964 SBs was sweet at 210.

3. Who do you think was the reach of the draft?

Chris Davis at 57, and Jay Bruce at 64. Davis is a powerhouse, but hasn't proven he can keep a tasty avg. yet, and Bruce will be a bust in my reckoning.

4. Who do you think will finish in the top 3?

Fade, Aussie, Redbull.
Fade has a team full of "my guys", I am a confident bloke ;-7 , and RedBull's team is good through both draft-tracker, and the naked eye.

5. Who do you think will finish in the bottom 3?

Oooh contentious. This is not meant to be taken personally ;-D .
Bobbing, Giantsfan, fezzik.

I don't like Bobbing's draft after Torii Hunter (no offense :-B ), there is not enough viagra in the world to keep Gfan's team (Team Viagra it should be renamed) afloat, and I will crush fezzik so badly in week 3 (for taking Giambi) that his team will stage a mutiny against him. :-B

6. The best pick that you made

Hideki Matsui with pick 188 and Daniel Murphy with 221.
Godzilla has all the opportunity with GheyRod out, and Daniel Murphy is someone I was looking at who has budding skillz and his manager allegedly has a man-crush on him. Supposedly batting 2nd in that groovy Mets line-up as well.

7. The worst pick that you made

Russell Martin at 68. That was such a moneyball pick ugh. :-P

8. What player is the biggest key to your success?

The two-headed Timmy and Joba monster. Without it/them my pitching is a shadow of itself.

9. Your team's weak/strong points

Strength: 8 trillion SBs. Hitting depth.
Weakness: Pitching.

davis makes no sense for you to label him the reach of the draft when at least 4 guys were mad i took him when i did (you included) and you immediately im'ed me to trade for him and even offered players you drafted before him. go figure ;-7

1. What was your draft strategy?
Simple: 1) Pick the best player available regardless of position. 2) Draft one top pitcher in the first couple of rounds and 3) Hoard all of the 2B so fezzik can't have anyone of them :-D

2. Who do you think was the steal of the draft?
Mike Napoli - Round 23. I think some were turned off by his shoulder injury but that is great value.

3. Who do you think was the reach of the draft?
Anyone who Aussie drafted. I think Jacoby went a bit too early.

4. Who do you think will finish in the top 3?
Snakes, Fade and GP

5. Who do you think will finish in the bottom 3?

6. The best pick that you made
Nick Markakis. I'm really surprised he dropped to that spot. And I really am thrilled that Chase fell to the second. Now people are taking him in the first round.

7. The worst pick that you made
DeRosa. I overvalued him because of his multiple position eligibility.

8. What player is the biggest key to your success?
Chase Utley. Hopefully he will be the Chase of year's past and his hip troubles are behind him. It would be great if he could get at least 10 steals.

9. Your team's weak/strong points
Weak: Power hitting. I always seem to have a glut of power on my team.
Strong: Pitching. I think the trio of Cole, Beckett and Felix is tops in the league.

1. What was your draft strategy?
General: Since we're only keeping 10 players with 4 years max, try to have your best players (top picks) under/around 30...after round 12 or 13 age was no longer an issue. Don't be afraid to draft quality SP's when they fall.
Offense: Devalue SBs, target high OPS. players with lots of power.
Pitching: High K SPs with dominant stuff, upside, and overall quality, solid ratio RPs...draft a lot of Ps, since I don't plan to spot start/stream an pitchers and some you like to spot start 3 or 4 times a week.

2. Who do you think was the steal of the draft?
Magglio Ordonez

3. Who do you think was the reach of the draft?
Jay Bruce, Brian McCann

4. Who do you think will finish in the top 3?
fezzik, GP, Fade

5. Who do you think will finish in the bottom 3?
I have no idea!

6. The best pick that you made?
I liked a few of them...Sabathia, N. Cruz, M. Gonzalez, Brett Myers

7. The worst pick that you made?
Jason Giambi...he's a bum. :-D

8. What player is the biggest key to your success?
Ludwick, Cruz, Liriano

9. Your team's weak/strong points?
Weakness: BA, SBs and Saves (I like my OF potential, but I would like to have one more "sure thing" there. I would like one more saves contributor.)
Strengths: HRs, OPS, Ks, Era (I think I have the best SPs by far. IMO I have the best CI tandem.)

its great value for sure, but im not sure he'll produce enough to be the "steal of the draft".

1. What was your draft strategy?
i decided to punt stolen bases after about the 4th round (which is the main reason why im looking to shop beltran. i dont need his 25/25 or 30/30 production as much as a pure bopper. in hindsight, i probably would have gone a different direction. also, i tried to avoid anyone "old". abreu, magglio, vlad...those types. with 10 keepers, i wanted to make sure i would have a good core to build with for the next few seasons.

2. Who do you think was the steal of the draft?
probably magglio. him falling to the 7th is a product of this being a keeper league so a lot of the 30 yr olds will probably produce higher than their draft spot for the next year or 2. vernon wells falls into this category as well.

3. Who do you think was the reach of the draft?
ben sheets. no team = no dl
jay bruce may have been a reach to every other team but mine. he fit exactly what i was trying to do (young, lf, pure power, high ops potential) and LF is easily the weakest OF slot. i took bruce with the 4th pick in the 6th round and the next lf wasnt taken until the 9th (ethier). had i not taken bruce where i did, i wouldnt have gotten him, so im good with the pick.

4. Who do you think will finish in the top 3?
me smoove fade

5. Who do you think will finish in the bottom 3?
gf! aussie bobbingheadz

6. The best pick that you made
maybe vernon wells. im not a fan personally, but late in the 12th round? hes a lock to outperform that draft slot. im also a big fan of drafting glaus late in drafts, and i got him in the 20th here. his high ops is a huge boost and all i have to do is put him on the dl for a month or 2.

7. The worst pick that you made
beltran considering how the rest of my team shaped up. also, while i do like atkins a good deal, i probably should have gotten my 2nd pitcher there, like felix, and opted for a 3b later in the draft, ala huff or someone similar.

8. What player is the biggest key to your success?

9. Your team's weak/strong points
strength: hitting, specifically power (hr, rbi, ops) and veteran pitching. high risk there.
weakness: i start out losing 1-0 every week by punting stolen bases. high risk/high upside pitching. price, max, cain all can be top 15 pitchers, or they could be limited by innings, injuries, bad offense.

i have some dynamic young players (bruce, davis, adrian, price, max, cain, maybin) that can be superstars for the next 5 years.

1. What was your draft strategy?

Avoid making excessive reaches for youth but at the same time, really emphasize the tiers system so that if I have a young guy at the bottom of my tier and an older guy closer to the top, go with the younger guy. With my later picks, completely ignore projections and draft as many high upside players as I can. I'd rather maximize my odds at finding at least 1 or 2 guys being kept from my Round 20 and later picks like because I had the two best picks of the draft last year with Ervin and Volquez by avoiding the meddling veterans. Drafting veterans unless it's an elite guy recovering from an injury like Smoltz in flier rounds is worthless. I also blew off speed and wasn't punting saves again. Getting two elite starters was also important.

2. Who do you think was the steal of the draft?

Soriano in the late third clearly. Huge bargain there. I wanted to take him but I already had a LF and Morneau is a power hitting first baseman in his prime, not passing that up.

Mike Napoli in Round 23 was nice. For picks who can have a larger impact, Joey Votto in Round 6 after Davis and Bruce was nice, real polished hitter, isn't a strikeout machine like the other two, and none of them have premium position eligibility for the future. Cueto in Round 17 seemed late for a high upside guy.

3. Who do you think was the reach of the draft?

Dice K in Round 8 was pretty awful. Owning him is pure torture, the guy cannot pitch more than 5 innings, gives up 10 walks per start, and went ahead of guys like Gallardo, Greinke, and Lester, 3 guys I'd much rather have.

Chris Davis in Round 5, Ludwick in Round 5, Bruce in Round 6, Cano in Round 8, Chris B. Young in Round 9, and Jayson Werth in Round 10 are my other nominees.

4. Who do you think will finish in the top 3?

Fade, Giantsfan , me :-D

5. Who do you think will finish in the bottom 3?

Smaat, Fezzik, Bobbing Headz or Smoove depending on when Ervin gets back (his pitching is really bad if he misses significant time, plus Marmol may not close).

6. The best pick that you made

Roy Halladay in Round 5, I'll take getting one of the 7 #1 starters here. Haren makes it 8 in roto, not in H2H though.

7. The worst pick that you made

Broxton in Round 10. I should have grabbed Wainwright or Volquez there and just taken Valverde on the way back if Broxton was taken. Not really thrilled about Soto either but still don't know who I would have taken instead, was praying for Votto to drop.

8. What player is the biggest key to your success?

Carlos Quentin and it's not even close. Canyon sized gamble taking him over Lee, Berkman, Manny, and Soriano. People are saying his power will decline but the man was going to hit over 40 bombs last year, a sharp decline would be 30 over the full 162 games. He has a legitimate chance to be a first rounder heading into 2010 or the bust of the draft.

9. Your team's weak/strong points

Hitting: Tons of power, basically zero speed.
Pitching: Good closer core, Nice 1-2 punch, millions of high upside guys at the back end of my rotation and hopefully 2 of them will pan out.

i forgot about that pick. one of the biggest reaches/keys to success in the draft. he pretty much has to duplicate last season, which most people do not think is possible to warrant that selection. :-o

see i dont know how i feel about the youth thing after say picks 13...a maybin or hanson could end up being a top 10 keeper if they produce right away. i tried to take a couple high upside guys late, but also kept in mind that i may not be able to keep them.
