I would rather have Manny now and the next couple of years but it is close because I am high on Markakis too. If you want a long term keeper who will still be producing in 4 years go with Markakis but If you want to win now and the near future you gotta go with Manny. I mean Manny is pretty much guaranteed a 300 avg, 30+HR, 115 RBI and 100 runs. Markakis should also net you a 300avg but less than Manny's, 20-25HR, and 95 RBI with 100 runs. I just like Manny better.
Honestly I say Markakis since he adds stolen bases, and could post 30+ homeres and since he had to take a lowball offer (his opinion) he might have his attitude issue like in Boston.

I'd want Markakis both now and later. I wouldnt be surprised if Manny went the way of the Sheffield this year. I'd prefer very high reliability with slightly lower short term upside, and way higher long term upside.
I'd take Manny in a redraft, Markakis in a keeper of 3 or more years. Manny will outproduce him some but basically you'd be exchanging him for peace of mind (Manny is 37 in May) and that would be worth it to me.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
