I took him 33rd overall and don't feel even a little bit bad about it. 30/30 potential is real with potential for close to 40/40 someday. He's the second coming of Soriano, with an equally good if not better lineup around him than Alfonso.
Yesterday in an NFBC main event league, with draft slot # 15 I took Kemp at 16, and I saw that same thing happen in another league as well. I went with his 30/30 potential.
Some will argue that is too high, and those "some" might be right. Then again, if he does exceed last year's stats, it wasn't too high as all.

, I don't pay for (2nd round) Beltran/Soriano numbers and end up with Kemp.

You are also paying for last year's numbers. I'll go with this year. Thanks.

So based on this yrs numbers, what's the rest of your roster look like.
Edit: Sorry 'bout the thread hijack, but I'm curious.
I'm seeing 25/30 from Kemp this year assuming he runs just as much at the end of the lineup. And from the looks of Spring Training, Torre is determined to bat Kemp in the 7 hole. Now, if your expecting him to move up the order, you're walking that thin line of predicting injuries in order for a player to attain his projections. Because if he does indeed bat in the 7 hole as Torre has planned, his Runs and RBIs are not going to be as great as people are expecting. And it could also shave off some of his other numbers if his plate appearances fall a great deal from last years standards.
With all this being said, I do like Kemp a great deal. I just think he's going a bit too high.
