I'm sitting with the 7th pick in a AL-Only 10 team league. My thought is that Kinsler, Holliday and Morneau will definitely be there.
There's a chance that Longoria could be in the mix as well. Hamilton is a distant chance as well.
With my first pick, I"ve been battling back and forth. I really like Kinsler, but am intrigued by players like Longoria and Holliday. It's really between those 3. Plus, I worry about Kinsler staying healthy.
Lately, I've been really thinking about Holliday though. The word out in Oakland is that he's gonna be a monster.
So, I've debated about going with him and hoping that Pedroia somehow slides down to my 2nd, or maybe hope Brian Roberts is there for my 3rd. At the same time, the idea of Kinsler or Longoria, and grabbing an OF on the way back is also appealing. Guys like Upton, Quentin and Markakis could be in play. What's the better strategy?

hes still going to put up big numbers, just not as good as he had in Colorado. i dont see him getting the SB like he did last season, but he could have around 10. in his splits he still had .300+ AVG away from Coors thelkast 2 seasons (08- .308/ 07- .301), so he should still be a .300 hitter. he was down to 25 HR last season, but only played 139 games. if he plays into the high 150's he should have 25-30 HR. RBI/R will depend on how the other hitters in the A's lineup do. im guessing they go with Cabrera leading off. they have Giambi/Cust in there somewhere.
I think Holliday will be fine, but I'd still opt for Kinsler in front of him. I think the difference in talent at 2B from top to bottom is further heightened being that it's an AL only league. I also would be concerned of Holliday getting dealt if the A's struggle, which I think has to be a big consideration with your league format. I would probably go Kinsler, Upton if you can manage it. I love the combination of power and speed, both hit for extra bases, both score runs, both have very good lineups, and both will definitely remain with their teams and in the AL all year. I hope that was of some assistance, help with mine please?
