this is what im thinking. i currently have Kouzmanoff at 3B. i want someone better. im targeting David Wright. the other owner is looking for SB. both Sizemore and Wright were picked in the 1st round. i have to include Kouzmanoff to give him someone at 3B. i would like to get Loney as i think if hes batting between Manny and Kemp he could get numbers just as good of not better than Lee. i could also use another closer. he has 4 and i have 2.
i give- Grady Sizmore, Kevin Kouzmanoff, Derrek Lee, Jeremy Guthrie, Grant Balfour i get- David Wright, Pat Burrell, James Loney, Joel Hanrahan
i can lose Guthrie as a starter and i still have 7 other starters. he doesnt necessarily need another starter, but Guthrie's numbers are better than some of his other starters. he has Percival, so maybe he would be interested in Balfour as a backup. i was thinking between Burrell and Ibanez, but i think Burrell gives me better numbers?

I'll play Devils advocate here and act lke the other team is mine...
I have Santana, Halladay, Maholm, Felix H, Carpenter (very good sleeper), and Escobar... Why would I ever want Guthrie in a deal? Hes completely unnecessary and by the looks of my team, i'd b dropping him.
If I were him, and you wanted David Wright, you would definately have to send me Kouzmanoff, Brian McCann to upgrade my catcher since kouzmanoff is a big drop down from Wright.
I like this deal for you. I think it's a fair value offer, and if you can get Ibanez in place of Burrell, I'd do that. I'm not a huge fan of either Lee or Loney, but both are capable of putting up a solid average with good counting stats. Lee has a higher power ceiling, though I don't ever see him replicating his best power years, more like 25-30 HR is a safe projection. Loney is more of a 15-20 HR ceiling type, but the upgrade from Kouz to Wright is far greater then either downgrade from DLee to Loney or Sizemore to Ibanez/Burrell. If you can do it, by all means do it. If you think you can squeeze a closer into it, why not try and get Percival who is cheaper since you'll already have his handcuff on your roster in Balfour.
