He has nice power, and is making quite decent contact now.
Last year's injuries were carpel tunnel and an inflamed right shoulder. Both seem to have been fixed.

Health is the skill he is lacking.
As long as he stays injury free I want him on my team.

I like Hank Blalock a lot this year, but I think it would be a bit foolish to have him as your starting 3B right off the bat.

Agreed. Ramirez is a stud at 3rd. I would love to have Blalock on my team as a UT option should he stay healthy but I would not be brave/foolish enough to slot him in as my starting third baseman.

I wouldn't put all my eggs in the Hank Blalock basket. It's now being speculated that he will platoon at DH with Andruw Jones now that Jones has agreed to assume a lesser role with the team.

I actually think that's a good use for him. He should (hopefully) make it through the month of April healthy.

Andruw Jones? Oh man, that's depressing. Hopefully if Jones truly gets into a "DH platoon" with Blalock, that means Blalock will play more games at 3B or 1B to make up for it... anyways not sure how much of a threat Jones is anymore to steal at-bats away from anybody. I was surprised to read that.

I don't think Jones will steal ABs from anyone in April.

Blalock until ARod is ready and then trade him if he is producing seems like a good strat to me.

Though drafting ARod wasn't a good strat imo~.

I think Blalock will have a good year .280 25hrs isnt out of the question, even if other players have to DH due to nagging injuries, he still will cover Chris Davis, which I think is a little to hyped and 3rd base when Young has to move back to SS/2B to cover a slumping Andrus, or one of Ian Kinslers hamstring injuries
