Utility Hitter *WHIR*

Postby michaelyoung4prez » Fri Mar 20, 2009 3:40 pm

I cannot decide who should be my utility guy off waivers. I have Francouer right now hoping he returns to his '07 form and he is having a good spring.

Any of these guys better options?:

Lind
Delmon Young
Winn
Choo
Mark Reynolds
Y. Escobar
J. Guillen
I. Stewart
C. Gomez
Snider
Kotchman
Headley

Thanks, leave a link for help

Lind is a standout in that group. If you want a higher risk/reward pick, go with Snider.

I would definitely go with Reynolds in a Roto if there's no K penalty, but not in a weekly head to head because of his extreme hot/cold streaks.

I LOVE Snider, but there are LOTS of better options out there than Frenchy, in my book:

Choo
Lind
and I believe in a Delmon Young comeback...

Please help quick:

Still have Frenchy, I have been watching the updates on their springs and Delmon's intrigues me the most but at the same time he will "split equal time with 3 other guys" Not sure what to think of this. Thoughts?

i like Choo. a full season in Cleveland he could be productive in HR and SB.
he hasnt had many steals in his major league career, but he ran more in the minors. in 2006 at AAA he had 25 SB in 95 G/375 AB. in 2007 at AAA he had 10 SB in 59 G/208 AB.
im thinking he could have around 15+ HR, 15+ SB with potential for more.

help?

EDIT- Choo was just mentioned on ESPN fantasy baseball special show. last season in the 2nd half only 2 players had higher OPS than Choo, and that was Manny and Quentin.
heres what Choo did in the 2nd half- 58 G/ 210 AB - .343 AVG/ .424 OBP/ .614 SLG/ 1.038 OPS
