Who did you take at #12?

Postby lbblue » Fri Mar 20, 2009 2:25 pm

My leagues' draft is this coming Monday and I have the #12 pick in a 12-team league. It is a serpentine draft so I also have the #13 pick. I know many of you out there have already had your drafts. For those of you who had the #12 and #13 picks, I'm curious to what players you were deciding between and which two you ultimately decided upon. I'm looking for replies from people who drafted within the past couple of weeks or at least since A-Rod dropped out of the first.

That is a tough spot in a draft... I would look at the best player in a postion, other than catcher to start my team building and then try to grab a starting pitcher with the 13pick.

I'd pick Utley/Rollins/Kinsler with one pick, then go with a power first baseman with the second. Berkman, Tex, Howard, Fielder - any of them are good.

Lincecum is great, but that is just too early for a pitcher in a standard league in my view with all the great hitters available.

Thanks for the replies, fellas. What I'm really looking for is people who have drafted in this spot within the past week or two though so I can find out exactly who was available to them and who they chose from that group.

I'm hoping for Utley/Teixeira but one or both could very well be gone. I won't take a SP that high.

I took Tex/Rollins there in a league I drafted yesterday.

Interesting that JRoll fell. It seems like Utley is rising lately as people are starting to feel comfortable with his recovery from surgery. If that causes JRoll to fall then I won't be disappointed.

Yes he did big time (although great value there for Sizemore obviously)

I think he definitely reached on Morneau but Sizemore was there at #12???!!! Yeah, I don't expect that to happen in my draft, but that was a gift for your buddy.

2-3 weeks ago you would have been able to snatch up Utley and Tex, but Utley has risen alot and I don't think will be around.

I have drafted in this slot last week and I can tell you will prob have Tex/Howard/Santana/Lincecum and perhaps Rollins (have seen him around this late on more than one occasion).

If Rollins is around I think you would be sitting pretty with Rollins and your choice of Howard/Tex, depending on whether you like the AVG or the HR/RBI.

I think the question you have to be ready for is that if Rollins is off the board will you consider taking Howard and Tex.
