I have a good offer on the table for Pujols that has me seriously considering trading him.
The proposed trade is:
1B - Albert Pujols
SP - Cole Hamels
SP – Chris Carpenter
FOR
1B – Prince Fielder
OF – Ichiro Suzuki
SP – Fausto Carmona
I could REALLY use some help on this as I am unsure what to do.
My thinking is I need some AVG on my team, and with the stolen bases I would get from Ichiro I am pretty much guaranteed top of that category.
With my belief that Fielder will have better numbers than last year, I feel him and Pujols are going to be quite similar. I will really only be losing the AVG, OPS, BB and IBB in trading Pujols, and while those are 4 strong categories, the AVG and SB I get from Ichiro should help even the deal.
The other thing bothering me with this trade is the pitching. I know I have pitching to give up – but am worried I am giving up too much. I believe Carpenter is going to have a great season, and although Hamels recently had his arm examined I am confident he will be solid this season as well. Fausto on the other hand I am weary of….
If the transaction is completed I would most likely end up dropping Jason Werth (making Tori Hunter my floating sub) and picking up another pitcher. Smoltz is still available as well as Oliver Perez, Johnathan Sanchez, Todd Wellemyer etc…
i most definitely would reject this trade ASAP, for what your giving up you could get alot more in return... i wouldn't be as concerned about your average and sb... looking at it pujols will most likely beat fielder by at least 30 points in average, and you have some other very good average bats and roberts/sizemore/rios will probably win most all weeks in SB for you... and even tho carpenter is coming back from injury he has far more potential for a top season then carmona IMO... decline ASAP...
absolutely not! ick! do not do that... please do not do that.. I am very pro prince fielder, i think he's gonna have an awesome year and i still would not even consider that.
RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! theer is no way you are getting enough value for those guys. when trading always remember that both sides need to benefit...but equally in different ways. This trade is very lopsided in the others favor. in no way do you make this trade.
