So I think I've pretty much exhausted all trade options before the trade deadline save this one:
I get: Ryan Ludwick I give: Yovanni Gallardo and an extra (obtained via trade) 15th round pick
First, please consider the fact that we must keep 5 and can keep up to 10. However, each costs a draft pick in the round past 5. To wit, if I only kept 5 and everyone else kept 10, I'd have the first 5 picks in the draft. It's too much work to predict who will be kept, so I won't, but for many reasons it's looking like it's better to keep more than less.
As for the players, I'll break them into tiers in order to sort them out. Right now I'm thinking I'll keep the 1st two tiers: 1st Tier: Johan Santana, Carlos Beltran, Corey Hart, Adam Dunn, Joe Nathan 2nd Tier: V-Mart, Joakim Soria, Yovanni Gallardo, Zach Greinke, Michael Young ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3rd Tier: Aubrey Huff, Alex Gordon
As for minor leaguers, I only get to keep 5. My thoughts are keeping them in the following order: 1) Colby Rasmus (OF-Stl) 2) Matt LaPorta (1B-Cle) 3) Neftali Feliz (SP-Tex) 4) Josh Vitters (3B-ChiNL) 5) Michael Bowden (SP-Bos) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6) Yusmeiro Petit (SP-Ari)
6x6 weekly HtH 14 team roto keeper (between 5 and 10 keepers (no time limits or costs), losing a draft pick for each after 5) Offensive Categories: BA, OPS, RBI, HR, SB and Runs Scored. Pitching Categories: W, S, ERA, K/IP, Quality Starts minus Losses, and WHIP Offensive Starters: C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, 0F, 0F, 0F, UTIL Pitching Starters: SP, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP Bench: 10 spots Minors: 5 "free" keepers. These players if are eligible to be kept without the loss of a draft pick and in addition to the max of 10.
Thank you all in advance and as always, leave a link.

I'd keep the pitcher and the pick. Gallardo did get hurt last year but will be a nice pitcher probably this year. Ludwick is looking good but who knows if he will repeat last years numbers. Plus your OF looks pretty good with Soriano, Dunn, and Hart. Just my opinion but I think you should pass on this deal.
20tm dynasty 5x5 +BB,HLD C-Martin 1B- Fielder,Morneau 2B- Kipnis 3B- Zimm SS- Furcal,Cozart,Lowrie LF- Gordon,Duncan CF- C. Young RF- Upton,LaHair Util-Kemp SP-Shields,Johnson,Carpenter,Vogelsong,Bucholz,Matusz,Peavy,De La Rosa RP- JPap,Clipp,Valverde
I, too, decline the deal. Gallardo looks like an ace. Even if Ludwick repeats, he's a late bloomer, and they fade out fast.
Speaking of Corey Hart. Any chance you trade that fellow for a pick or a prospect upgrade with Bowden to free up the spot to keep Gordon? He's on the upswing, and he's already more valuable than you'd think in a 14 team keeper. 3B will be hard to cover otherwise.
I much prefer Gallardo and think he should have a much better season on two good legs this time around. If you want to move him, see if there is someone more proven than Ludwick, though I guess it's this or stand pat, so I say stand pat.
I hate this trade for you. Gallardo is a way, way, way more valuable keeper than out-of-nowhere, only-done-it-once, no-pedigree-to-warrant-continued-success Ludwick.
hmmm. Hardly ever does the boar give a resounding, "no." I guess that means it was a dumb idea.
He's now offering Ludwick for him straight up, but I'm getting nervous of having him paired with Dunn at all.
I'm now thinking of something like: Gallardo and Vitters for Mariano Rivera (or Carlos Marmol) and Travis Snider. Snider is a "free" keeper meaning he doesn't cost a draft pick. That would give me the best bullpen in the league and I'd be able to focus heavily on the 11-15 round starters, that I honestly think are the most worth it.
I'd still take a pretty big hit in terms of solid long-term value, but I like the idea of having a free keeper that can step in and be a starter right away. Dunn is eligible at 1st, so I'm not worried about having more OFs.
that makes no sense for you. You already have Nathan and Soria. In a 14 team league, I'm guessing you will have the best bullpen in the league. Marmol isn't even going to start the year as closer. Mo is coming off of shoulder surgery. Snider should be a good player in time, but I don't think he is going to be that great this year. Your farm system is already stacked. Rasmus will play right away andnd Laporta will see action this year as well.
I'd pass on that deal (and the original one as well, fwiw)
