I'd do this deal... It hurts you in the outfield but you improve your 2nd base 10-fold and your pitching improves too.

It's alright. It's close, and could make a lot of sense depending on what other options are available for you, but I'm simply not high on Pedroia. I think he'll regress a lot for too may reasons to list here. In the end, he'll probably give Phillips value.
Still, You'd be giving up two injury risks for two incredibly stable guys. I think you give up more upside, but really, what are the chances that both peavy and Soriano will be comletely healthy all year?
Given the fact that Matsui was even written in you post, I guess you do it with a not to stability and position scarcity.

Hunter will make a fine 3rd outfielder. I would definitely do it as I love Sabathia much more then Peavy. Alfonso Soriano is also more likely to get injured, and I think Pedroia's injury won't be serious.
If you wouldn't mind would you look at my situation and tell me what you think?

Alternative deal: Soriano and Vazquez for (Dunn-Or-Pence) and Sabathia It does not help my 2B situation, but it does give me a Peavy-Sabathia 1-2 punch with Billingsley to follow.

Bump ANyone else have thoughts on this deal? Am I better off doing this one or hanging onto Peavy and trying to get Sabathia and Dunn per the idea above?
