Draft strategy regarding positions

Postby melloyello » Thu Mar 19, 2009 8:39 pm

I know you definitely want to get the best value guy for your picks. But generally speaking where do you try to draft your positions?

For example.... I try to draft 3B early and wait until the 5th round for a pitcher and the 6th for a catcher.

Any thoughts?

sticks first 5 rounds, easily.... pitching is ridiculously deep, try and get a 3B early, if you can get wright he's the best available... if you play yahoo Miggy might still be eligibly.

pitching late, closers later, and stack your offense, don't feel that you "need" to fill any position ever, don't sit there and go "oh crap its the 8th and i dont have a 2B I NEED TO TAKE THE NEXT BEST GUY" and you select kelly johnson or rickie weeks, screw it, take the best value to fill a utility/SP/bench spot and grab aaron hill or alexie casilla late? see what i mean.... you can always make trades....

help with mine if you can: viewtopic.php?t=372610
