Berkman is due to regress IMO- horrible 2nd half last year

Plenty of guys had bad 2nd halves, usually there isn't much correlation to the next year. Players are going to slump a couple times a year, that is baseball.

no way you take Morneau 2nd round

Not that this a horrible start (Utley, Morneau), but I would be extremely disappointed if I started a draft in this way in a 12 teamer. I'm looking for a 5-cat guy in round 2, almost hands down. If I do not grab a 1B in the first round, and no one falls crazy low, My 1B will be drafted round 4-5.

i would go utley if it wasn't for his hip surgery. i know they're saying he'll be ready for opening day but still you gotta worry a little bit about him not being 100% recovered. that little bit of risk makes tex a slightly better buy for me. plus there's kinsler if you don't get utley.

Same could be said for Pujols going #2, Upton going in the 2nd round etc. If Utley had no injury questions he'd be a no brainer int he 5th-7th area and to be honest I might take him over Reyes at #4. The hip is why he is only #8.

what type of guys would you be targeting in round 2 (around pick #17 in a 12 teamer)? Upton, Lee, Soriano??? Is Berkman at #17 crazy low?

In the mock drafts I've done on Yahoo, Kinsler often falls to me at 15, which makes me think I should grab Hamilton or Tex at 10 and hope Kinsler is available at 15. What do you think?

Just read Utley went yard today. He looks to be a go for the start of the season....
....I'm drafting Sunday in a roto league and my list for 8th pick is as follows:
A.Utley
B.Braun
C. Rollins
D.Tex

Someone ended up taking Utley 5th so I nabbed Sizemore in the 8th slot, followed by Soriano and Markakis. Worked out pretty good imo.

I drafted 7th in a 12 team league. I took Braun with the 7th and then Hamilton went off the board after me with the 8th pick.

I would probably take Utley with Tex at a close 2nd.
