Let's say you've got the 8th pick in a 12 team mixed roto league, and Braun, Sizemore, Mcab are gone. Who do you pick? I'm having a tough time decided who to grab...
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!
In the Braun/Hamilton debate thread, I was one of the few to side with Joshy. Honestly, it may have been because I had just gone through a half box of Kleenex after watching "Resurrecting the Dream" on MLB Network (before you pervs say anything, I was referring to the childlike sobbing I was doing, not that that's a whole lot better... ).
Anyhew, while I do think Braun would be the wiser choice at 7, I like the Hammer at 8, position scarcity be damned. I wouldn't be surprised if his second half is more solid this season as he gets into better baseball shape. I also like the protection/RBI opps he'll get with Davis/Cruz/Blalock behind him and a healthy Kinsler (hopefully) in front of him.

Whatever. This is not draft strategy. This is, "Who should I draft in a mixed league with standard settings and Players A, B, and C have already been picked."
This is a DTKW WHIR!!!!! question, straight up.
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

I don't see how this is any different than the RP or OF polls. Anyway don't turn this into an argument, if an admin wants to move it they can.
I've been leaning towards Utley as the news of his rehab gets better and better. Kinsler usually won't drop until the the mid 2nd round and there's a big drop off in 2B after they're off the board. I don't like grabbing Howard that early because you spend the rest of the draft trying to make up the AVG. I'm not a believer in Hamilton after he slumped in the 2nd half last year. The Texas heat really seemed to drain him in the summer. Teix is solid but I would keep comfortable grabbing a 1B later on.
Thoughts?
