against: The athelete using steroids encroaches on the rights of the athlete who does not. for: The health risk today with proper supervision is minimal.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
just because they are illegal doesn't make then unethical.
smoking pot is illegal, does that make it unethical? especially when there are minimal health risks and NO reported deaths from usage. Prescription drugs kill 300% more americans a year than illegal drugs. i think that is unethical.
on steroids...the only way i see them being unethical is because they help to gain an unfair advantage over competition in a profession where performance counts. i like to compare using steroids to insider trading if that makes any sense. There are better, safer ways to become a great athlete just as there are better, safer ways to make money.
However, if steroids were made and used wayyy back in the days of ruth and dimaggio, would we be having this debate today?

haha...who would have thought a guy with a Phish avatar would post something like this?
Anyway, steroids aren't unethical. Their use could potentially be unethical, but generally speaking, it's not.
If your teacher wants more than that, just tell them Arty Vans said so.
