Figgins...

He's off to a good spring (5 SB, hitting .364). He's 2B eligible in Yahoo...does anyone have any input on his status? He's had two injury shortened seasons, but if healthy he's a lock for 40+, 100 R, .280+ out of the 2B spot (basically like Brian Roberts), but his injuries make me nervous...thoughts?

Minus the HR but plus 10-20 SB if he stays healthy, plus 3B eligibility. I like it.

2007 was a hand injury, 2008 was hamstring.

Bookmarked, Ender. Excellent resource. It's all flooding back to me now.

Hand injury was a freak accident after breaking his fingers sliding on artificial turf, and the hammy repeat was a result of rushing him back too early. (11 days for a hammy strain? Stupid) Hopefully the Angels learned from this. There's always the risk of the hammy becoming a chronic problem, but Figgy's a small dude and he won't be carrying a huge amount of weight on it, which should mitigate the risk a bit.

Could be huge payoff depending on where you get him. I reached for him in the mid-7th round in my only real draft this year, which is admittedly a stretch, but I didn't see anyone else that round who I liked. He's been falling between the 9th round and the 11th in most drafts, and there's solid potential for him to be a team's biggest value pick of the year.

ive said this all off-season...figgins is great value in the 8th or 9th round, but ive been noticing that he's been creeping up a little bit, to around the 6th or 7th.

I used to love Figgins but now I think I'll let someone else have him considering that I can get Jose Lopez or Kelly Johnson later in the draft. Hamstring injuries on speed burners make me a little uneasy and unless its a H2H league Figgins HR and RBI deficiencies make the risk even less tolerable.

My feelings exactly...getting 60 SB out of your 2B would be great, but you have to take him in the top 100 picks and I feel 2B is fairly deep after the first couple of them.
