What is wrong with the dude? Is it just a minor shoulder stiffness? I know he has had similar problems in the past...

I just want to make sure this isn't serious

Agreed, The Marlins seem to be downplaying it, but those of us that draft this weekend would LOVE TO KNOW IF THIS IS SERIOUS.

As per Rotoworld:
Hanley Ramirez (shoulder) has been diagnosed with rotator cuff tendinitis and is listed as day-to-day.

This qualifies as positive news after Ramirez was scratched from the lineup Wednesday. "He’ll be fine. He should be good to go in a couple of days," Marlins president of baseball operations president Larry Beinfest said. "It sounds like a play-as-you-can-tolerate thing."

For whatever reason I dont like the "play-as-you-can-tolerate" thing. Would anyone now pass on him with the #1 pick if you had to draft this weekend?

Yea this injury does seem to be minor, but I read today that he is going to see a doctor. Hopefully, the doctor confirm its just rotator cuff tendinitus

Shiznit. I've offered Rollins and Ellsbury to the owner of Hanley for him. Maybe I should withdraw it and be "precautionary" as well. :-/

Don't panic, Hanley should be ready for Opening Day. Inhale...exhale...

Marlins.com | Hanley expects to play Opening Day
Before the Marlins' game against the Phillies at Roger Dean Stadium on Thursday, Ramirez spoke about his sore right shoulder -- which has him listed as day-to-day -- and said he's going to be ready by Opening Day "for sure."

"You have to have in mind what's your limit," said Ramirez, who hasn't played in a Spring Training game since he served as the designated hitter Saturday in Fort Myers, Fla. "So before I went to the [Classic], I didn't play nine innings. And I played in the first game right away nine innings, and I made a lot of throws."

Ramirez, however, added he didn't hurt himself playing at the Classic.

"I think it was here [in Jupiter]," Ramirez said. "Because you have to get yourself ready to go to the [Classic], so you have to throw long loss and try to get ready."

Ramirez took some batting practice before Thursday's game and said the shoulder does not bother him when he hits. For now, he's not sure when he'll throw, but manager Fredi Gonzalez said Ramirez could throw a little on Thursday or Friday.
