Need more help! Just Added Oswalt and Pence through trade.

I just made a deal for Roy Oswalt, Hunter Pence, and Pablo Sandoval. I traded away Ryan Doumit, Gil Meche, and Oliver Perez. Do you think this trade helped? Who would you start at SS and U where Pence is? Thoughts on Posada being an everyday option? Now my roster looks like this...WHIR!!!! Leave a link.

Wright, David 3B NYM

Quentin, Carlos LF CHW
Pence, Hunter RF HOU (U)
Active Pitchers

I would be starting Furcal at SS over Hardy. I think the trade was definitely a good deal for you.
Also, Posada as the everyday catcher without a backup sounds suspect to me. Its really tough to say what he will be like coming back this year. I guess this is not a Yahoo league (Sandoval without catcher eligibility)? If he doesn't get catcher eligibility I would look to add a backup for Posada from the FA availavle.

I think I would choose Napoli and give your team a little more power. As I said though, this is assuming Sandoval is not getting catcher eligibility. I haven't been keeping up with him or where he is likely to be playing most of his games, but Sandoval should absolutely be your first choice over Posada if he gets the C.

Good luck!

Thank you sir. Well Sandoval does not have catcher eligibility. He will start at 3B and keep his 1B eligibility. If he does not get anytime behind the dish then he won't have C eligibility. Napoli might not be ready to begin the season with the big club. He may go back into extended spring and continue his rehab. Skipper said he wants Napoli when he is 100% ready to catch everyday and not before then. Mathis would be the C but he sucks. I can wait on Napoli. So who do you say in the situation that he doesn't begin in the majors?

Honestly I had no idea about Napoli. haha, Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I am now very glad I didn't grab him as my catcher in any leagues!

Also thanks for the update on pablo.

I really don't know the lower tier catcher options well enough to make a really informed decision. Is the Marlins catcher available (Baker I think)? I heard he is supposedly hitting 2nd in the batting order, in front of Han Ram. That certainly can't hurt, but I am assuming playing time is an issue for him as well...

Other than that, sorry, I really don't know enough about any of the catchers. Best of luck to you.
