Not dumb - just make sure it is a later pick - 8, 9, 10

Some people think Kinsler is better than Utley (I do not) so he might slip to the second round for you

I think the clear PROVEN choice in your slot is either Tiex or Utley. I always give a slight edge to an IF. I would not touch Rollins at this point in the first round. If you want to gamble than I would grab Kinsler as the upside is Huge. I am not grabbing a pitcher under any circumstances in the first round. Sure Lincicum is great but is he really that much better than CC, Halladay, Lackey, Beckett, Webb or someone you can take in the second or even third.

I can tell you that I am a gambler and like Kinsler this year. If it were not for the surgery Utley would be a no brainer.

By the way- Hamilton is a nice player but taking him in the first and hoping for a repeat is unrealistic.

I was #9 and I grabbed Utley in the first round. In the 2nd round I was able to get Miggy.

why would you take Utley in the first place and secondly how did he fall to you in the 2nd? What kind of league is that? Miggy should go top 7 in every league....

Thanks for all of the replies and varying opinions.

I prolly should have qualified this a bit more:
Not taking a pitcher
Not touching Hamilton or Rollins in the first
Cant see taking Kinsler at 8

I like 5 tool guys with my first pick (or two). I love Miggy but really this battle comes down to Sizemore and Utley (hip and all). Braun will be gone. Knowing my leaguemates, Sizemore will probably be there, and while I love his numbers, the average scares me. IF Utley can stay healthy he seems the right choice. That being said, there's always the IF factor with any player.
Also, I really like to fill an infield spot or two in the first three rounds...

So... what about this. Any chance Kinsler lasts til the comeback? Maybe go ahead and take Sizemore or Miggy and shoot for Kinsler at the 17th spot, or am I wishing here? Also a spot where I would take Rollins were he available and Kinsler gone. Thoughts. Thanks again for all the advice.

I like 5 tool guys. If it's not Utley, it's Size... Yikes this is getting complicated. I know logic says Miggy is a good choice there, but Ive got my strategery. Like I said, I like the 5 tool infielders...

Hell, I dunno. Maybe MIggy at 8 and hope for Kinsler/Rollins on the rebound. This is why I dont post much; you guys confuse me and I do pretty damn well at this stuff.... :-B

If you want Utley, then you're probably going to have to take him with your first pick since the probability is great he won't make it back to you. Personally, if either Sizemore/M-Cab/Braun fall to you, that's the best-case scenario. Assuming all three are off the board, I'd probably go with Tex or Hamilton.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to sit on this for a bit. Really, I can't go wrong with any of them assuming health. Just looked back at my rankings before I started this shenanigans - Size, Mig, Utley... Not going to take Kinsler, Teix, or Hamilton in that spot. Thaks again,Y'all. ;-D

Didnt read all the responses but there are rumors he won't run for the first few months due to the surgery. I wouldnt waste the 8th pick on him.
