Sleeper 2b

What do you guys think of these 2b that are currently FAs in my league:
Fontenot
Barmes
Luis Castillo
Schumaker

I could see any of these having a nice season. Castillo probably looks odd on the list but I heard he came to camp in shape and ready to play.

I don't like these guys better than Felipe Lopez and Aaron Hill, both of whom could still be FAs, too.

Of these 4, I'm thinking Barmes is the one I like best, but he's someone you could wait on unless you really are in a deep league. Schumaker seems like a low rent version of Polanco, and that's assuming he gets PT overall and at 2B enough to qualify. Castillo will waste your team. And your time. Fontenot's my bet for the best value here, but Barmes gets the nod for higher upside.

Oh, and the winner of the battle in SF should rack up some steals. Velez or Burriss.

What about Frandsen? I have Kendrick who obviously has more upside than all of these guys but I could also see him disappointing even if he is healthy and there are always the health issues. I like Barmes and Fontenot if they keep getting PT. I'd love Velez for his steals but I don't think he starts much this year.

Also Hill is a scrub but Lopez is worth keeping an eye on too.

Hill has had a 20 homer season, and if you're looking for cover for a few DL trips for Kendrick, you could do worse.

Velez looks like they're grooming him to be their very own little Figgins. He's had a lot of time in the OF. If that plan takes off, his value does, too.

I don't see Fransden winning the job.

Actually he hasn't. He had 17 in 2007 and that is the max.

Hill is a scrub? He had a concussion last year, might want to check his 2007 stats and how many doubles he had? He was due for a big year last year and it didn't happen, he's on my watch list for sure right now.

I like Fontenot too, gotta love the line up and he's tearing up spring training....

And the previous year he only had 6 in basically a full season. I'll put him on the watch list but highly doubt he does anything worth rostering.

Do you guys know of any good 1b sleepers? Will Sheely ever get the PT to show what he might be able to do?
