Drop Iannetta for Pudge?

Postby stcardinal » Tue Mar 17, 2009 7:20 pm

My catcher position is kind of weak, currently I am starting Pablo, and my backup is Iannetta. Should I drop him for Pudge? The way I see it, Pudge will start most of the games and has a better average and can steal at least 1-2 bag for me.

If you have Pablo Sandoval and Iannetta, your catching is incredibly strong.

I'm sorry, but Pudge is a terrible idea for you.

Sure if this is the late 90's. The fact is that Iannetta broke out last year while sharing ABs. He should get a full workload this year and only continue to get better.

Under no circumstances should you do that. Pudge was a fantastic player, but he's just not a fantasy catcher anymore.

I'm willing to bet Ianetta ends up with better overall numbers than Pablo...both will be better than Pudge, the economy wasnt the only reason it took him this long to get a job

Iannetta had 18 HR's in a little under 400 AB's. If you were to drop EITHER catcher (which I wouldn't) it would be Pablo.

It's only cheating on your favorite team if you get caught... Like the '07 Series.

What an odd question. Pudge is finished and Iannetta is just getting started. I think Iannetta could be McCannesque as soon as this year.

Yeah, I think this will really be a good year for Iannetta.
