I think that you do this deal in a second. Scherzer might be ok this year, but he is far from a certainty. Cordero is about as certain as a closer as you can get. He might not help you with peripheral stats, but there is no reason to believe that he wont get you 30-35 saves.

I have a huge mancrush on Scherzer, but looking at your keeper list, I don't see him ascending to your top 6 going into next year. I think that Cordero is more valuable, and you do need another closer.

considering your team, Cordero is more valuable to you. like with most closers theres always that risk of injury or a slump that could get him replaced, but right now cordero has no competition on a team that is not gonna be winning games by 4+ runs very often
