Chris Perez trade value???? WHIR

Postby tdmel30 » Tue Mar 17, 2009 3:24 pm

10 team, NL-only, 4x4, keeper. $260 auction cap with a $185 keeper cap. Keeper values based on previous years performance. 11 hitters, 9 pitchers, no bench.

Chris Perez has pitched himself off my keeper list and I was wondering what kind of value he may have in a trade. With the way my keeper list and our league keeper rules go, the player I get in return would have to be $1. Perez is at $6. Is it worth looking to trade him or a waste of my time? Or would I be better letting him go back into the auction?

Here is a list of $1 pitchers. Some I wouldn't want and others I'm sure wouldn't be available. I'd just like to know approximately what I should shoot for, if anything.

Myers
Bailey
Wolf
Soriano
Lannan
Schmidt
J. Reyes
S. Hill
Karstens
Francis
A. Miller
Acosta
Villanueva
Marshall
Parra
T. Pena
C. Cordero
Jiminez
Snell
Marquis
Kershaw
Arroyo
A. Sanchez
Morales
Owings
Ol. Perez
Maine

Thanks in advance. Leave a link and I'll get back to you.

I really don't think you'll be able to move him at $6. Too much uncertainty.

You might be able to move him closer to the start of the season when its decided whether he will be the closer or not, but guy is right at $6 that might be harder to do than its worth trying for

Ditto the other posters. But I'd still try, it doesn't hurt anything.

After watching Snell last night he looks back to 2007 form and should come at a discount. I'd ask for Parra or Snell - both are under-the-radar types that can pay big dividends. Morales fits the bill too but I'm starting to lose interest.

The hype on Marshall might killed it for you, but he's another I'd ask for.

You never know. If the other owners know they won't be keeping the guys you might be able to swing something. Plus some owners just love to trade and are more willing to move non-keepers for non-keepers...

Good luck.

yeah its pretty much a waste of time to try and trade this guy. he came into ST as the favorite to win the job even though he has some stiff competition in jason motte, but he has been outpitched by motte so far this ST and most knowledgable fantasy players know that motte is the favorite right now and will most likely open the season as the closer with perez being the 7/8th inning guy. the only pitcher worth your time on that list is kershaw but there is zero chance that you would get him for perez. just let him go back into the auction...you might be able to get him cheaper if u redraft him.
