I just drafted this team last night, had first pick.
I am being offered Torii Hunter and Rich Harden for Carlos Quentin. Don't think its a good deal for me, mainly because it doesn't address my issue, lack of power and lack of a top tier 1B or 3B.
This is my team;
C - Pablo Sandoval
1B - Derrek Lee
2B - Mike Aviles
3B - Adrian Beltre
SS - Hanley Ramirez
OF - BJ Upton
OF - Carlos Quentin
OF - Carl Crawford
UTIL - Curtis Granderson
BN - Justin Upton
BN - Alex Gordon
BN - Travis Snider
SP - Chad Billingsley
SP - Francisco Liriano
RP - Jonathan Broxton
RP - Matt Lindstrom
P - Felix Hernandez
P - Yovani Gallardo
P - Zack Greinke
BN - Kevin Gregg
BN - Brandon Lyon
His team;
C - Russell Martin
1B - Adam Dunn
2B - Brian Roberts
3B - David Wright
SS - Troy Tulowitzki
OF - Nick Markakis
OF - Torii Hunter
OF - Andre Ethier
Util - Nelson Cruz
BN - Alex Rodriguez
BN - Hideki Matsui
BN - Paul Konerko
SP - Johan Santana
SP - John Lackey
RP - Chad Qualls
RP - Frank Francisco
P - Rich Harden
P - David Price
P - Joel Hanrahan
BN - Mark Buehrle
BN - Armando Galarraga

I would stick with just Quentin. He could challenge for HR lead and still bat .285 with 100, 100, 10. Top 20 numbers. Harden is too injury prone and hunter's best years are behind him.

No no no no no.... Your SP is fine and even if it weren't Harden can't be counted on anyways. Torii is regressing and living off reputation more than anything. His 34 this season.
You probably used your 3rd round pick on Quentin? He picked these guys around 10/11 I'd guess. Bad equation. You can do much better.

You basically answered the question for yourself. Its not really equal value and it does not address the needs for your team. Whenever those two things happen don't make the trade.

No; Hunter is a gigantic downgrade from Quentin, and Harden is maybe the most talented pitcher but hasn't gone a season without going to the DL in years.

yeah no way on this one, Quentin is a beast, have you watched the guy? He looks like a neanderthal swinging one of those big red bats, BEASTTTTTTT....
harden won't start 25 games this year, if he does i'll eat my hat, one year was lucky enough, and Torii hunter is old balls, go for more for Quentin...
and in all honesty if you need power he's the last guy you should deal! I dont think you're starving for power as much as you think.... hanley, quenting, (hopefully Upton) etc
