Travis Snider

I haven't heard anyone talk about this kid, probably bc he plays in a small market team. In any case, the kid has got pedigree (14th overall pick in 2006), so there's obviously some huge upside here. His minor league numbers aren't that great, however, his PECOTA projections are to love: 75-23-81-.252 avg. Does anyone know if he will be a starting OF on opening day for the Blue Jays? Could he be the next Longoria? On both of my teams, I dropped Eric Byrnes for Snider with hopes of a huge year even though he's only 21...

What's everyone's outlook on Travis this yr? Where will he be batting in the line up?

He's an everyday starter. No way Toronto lets him sit after the spring he's had so far. He is a lock for 400+ AB's.

I have a strong feeling that Snider will be one of the if not the top offensive performer on the Jays this year. He has absolutely raw power, can use the whole field and his swing is so smooth and controlled despite the high strikeout numbers in the minors.

In a recent article, Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus who specializes in prospects and scouting said that Snider would be a perennial all-star and occasional MVP candidate. If and how soon that happens is anybodies guess but man has he looked good in September and ST so far ... and that as a 20/21 year old.

Who is better this year: Snider or Daniel Murphy (Mets)?

Murphy does not have 30 HR power...however, Travis doesn't have the avg or speed of Murphy, therefore it really depends on your needs IMO

I am up soon in a draft and Snider and Murphy are the two top choices left at OF that I have on my rankings- I am going with Snider if he is available- I agree with the previous posters- it's not a knock on Murphy, but Snider is likely to make more of an impact due to HR potential
