Drafting last in the first round...help?

Postby Cobra_Kai » Tue Mar 17, 2009 2:02 pm

So I've got the 12th pick in the first round/ first pick in the second round...if it falls this way, I'm thinking of going Rollins/Longoria. I figure this way I've got two fairly shallow positions covered with two good producing players.

Any thoughts? Ideas? People to target? I've got my cheat sheets and everything, but I'm starting to worry a bit that I'm missing something.

I think that is a good idea. I would definetely grab Longoria. 3rd base seems like the most shallow position to me.

If all goes according to ADP I would select Rollins and Utley. Remember he was a mid first rounder last year and the only reason for the slight downgrade this year was due to his health. He says he is ready to start the season. Than draft Aramis coming back if he is available.

Too early for Longoria IMO. Good picks would be Utley and Rollins, or maybe one of them and Berkman/Tex/Howard depending on how the draft goes.

This year you can get Chipper in about the fifth round, which is a silly discount even with his injury history. Or you could get Chris Davis there in a lot of cases.

Gotta agree with the Rollins/Utley strategy. It just seems a little too early for Longoria at that point.
