Sizemore/#2 for Wright/#15??? - WHIR!

Postby mingecutter » Mon Mar 16, 2009 11:32 pm

Standard 5 x 5 H2H 10-Team Keeper League

I get: Sizemore and his first round pick (#2)

I give up: Wright and my second round pick (#15)

It's a 2-keeper league (1 off. & 1 P). I have Wright and Peavy.

I would be starting my team out with Sizemore (new keeper), the 2, and the 6. So, Sizemore, Kinsler/Utley, & Texeira/Manny? Without the trade, I start with Wright, the 6, and the 15. Longoria, Utley, Kinsler, Miggy, & Hamilton are the top 5 non-keepers available. Wright is a beast and a young keeper, but is this too much to pass up?

I think that I would do the deal. Sizemore is a stud and you get an extra 1st round pick. I would probably go with Kinsler/Utley with your first pick. With the 2nd pick, I would take a long look at Longoria because there is a steep dropoff at 3rd after him and it is not a deep position.

Oh boy this is a tough call. Wright is such a stud, and I do see a decent drop from him to Sizemore, but on the other hand I like having two picks in the top 6.

I would probably do it, but I think this is one of those trades where I would change my mind every few minutes thinking about it.

Are you sure Peavy is you next best keeper. List your team.

Yes, Peavy was my best pitching keeper. We can only keep one offensive keeper and one pitching keeper, and the deadline to set those has already passed. Longoria is who I would like to take at #2 over Kinsler/Utley, but he is most likely going number one overall. It would have been great to be able to replace Wright with Longoria (at #2) and still have the #6 pick, but it doesn't look like it will be possible. Thanks for the input so far, as I'm on the fence about this trade.

I'd do the deal, then take Miguel Cabrera and then Utley. I'm assuming Cabrera still has 3B in your league....

Unfortunately, Miggy only has 1B eligibility in my ESPN league. That would have been a great pick if I couldn't get Longoria for 3B at #2, tho. Thanks for the thought.

Too bad. I'd do the deal and make those same picks anyway. Maybe try shooting for A-Ram in the 3rd if he's still there.
