Last Keeper: McLouth, M. Ordonez or Beckett - WHIR

Postby Bea Arthur » Mon Mar 16, 2009 10:48 pm

20 Team H2H, 5 Keepers. My favorite and most competitive league. Finished runner up last year. My four keepers so far are:

Jose Reyes
Josh Hamilton
Aramis Ramierez
Chase Utley

So the 5th is Josh Beckett, Mags or McLouth. Leaning towards Mags.

Follow up question. I have 19th pick (out of 20) in the draft. I'm looking at perhaps Votto, Wieters or Ch. Davis with my first pick (technically 119) and then going after pitching the next couple of picks after that. Is that too early for Weiters? I have pretty strong keeps though, so I figure I'm in the position to gamble. What do you think?

Thanks for helping me out. I would take McClouth. Maggs is much older and is overvalued and has a tendency to get injured. McClouth will still give you very good numbers plus SB.

I would actually go for Beckett, you have 4 great bats already, would be nice to have a solid ace. For your 2nd question, I would go for Votto.

I am not a hige fan of Beckett but I agree that you have to take him here for the mere fact that you have such solid pitching and those guys you release aren't sure locks to be drafted before it's your pick again. In a keeper realize how much higher Wieters ADP goes up, you may never have to worry about a C again. Look and see what C are being kept and see if it would be worth drafting him this early. If you don't grab him with your first two picks he won't be around next time. Good luck this year!

I also have Javier Vasquez, who a lot of people have picked as having a huge year this year. He might not have the name value of Beckett, but might but up just as good if not better numbers.
