Liriano or Shields?

Liriano is going as high as 4th pick in many drafts. I think he a true 'pitcher' with dynamic stuff. please reply viewtopic.php?t=372223

I think it depends. I wouldn't want Liriano as my #1 pitcher due to the inherent risks. Also, in a deeper league, you want to minimize risks with an early pick. I would be comfortable with Shields as my #1 and Liriano as my #2.

Yup. I prefer Shields as my top ace, knowing that he's a safer pick and even if he doesn't strike out a great deal, keep in mind that pitchers in their third year improve a good deal. So, I think there's some reward with Shields. Liriano is looking good this Spring, but he still carries some risk and the reward isn't as massive as one would think (all depends if he can throw 200 innings).
