who would you draft and why? 14 team 5x5 keeper...and is the 6th round too early to draft these guys?

Liriano's velocity was down last year, so I don't think we'll see the dominant pre-TJ Liriano again. Shields is the safer pick, and the one I would make.

I'd go with James Shields. He's durable and reliable. 6th round might be pushing it, but I would much rather have him than Liriano.

Another vote for Sheilds. That changeup is nasty.

Shields is lower risk, lower reward, but I'd still go with him. Liriano has bigger upside but he comes with too many red flags.

I'd go with Liriano. More risk, but if he brings it, watch out. I like Shields and he's the safer pick. If that is more what ur looking for, then makes complete sense.

I ended up with both, but I drafted Liriano first.

I like Shields a bit more because he is safer. He has great stuff and should emerge as an ace of the Rays this year.

I think it depends. I wouldn't want Liriano as my #1 pitcher due to the inherent risks. Also, in a deeper league, you want to minimize risks with an early pick. I would be comfortable with Shields as my #1 and Liriano as my #2.
