Pick 1 of these 3 closers. WHIR

Postby mac-unit » Mon Mar 16, 2009 6:02 pm

Joel Hanrahan
Mike Gonzalez
Matt Lindstrom

Out of those 3 who do you think would be the best 2nd closer in an H2H league.

Gonzalez is the best, but there is some injury risk there.

I'd probably take Lindstrom... I'd say any of those 3 are a flier at best, and I'd take my chances on Lindstrom. Not to confuse things even more by giving you your third different answer in as many responses. The only hesitation I'd have is that he is having an MRI done on his shoulder - got pulled from the WBC game with tightness.

The hesitation I have on Gonzalez is a healthy Rafael Soriano. Otherwise I'd go with him.

Hanrahan is probably the safest albiet the lowest ceiling. Depends on what you're looking for. If you can wait to see some news on the Lindstrom MRI I'd go with the upside for my #2 RP. If you can't wait, I'd go with Hanrahan.

Good luck!

Even though he's an injury risk, I like Gonzalez.

I'd say #1 is Gonzales, then Hanrahan (close though)

That's how I take it. If you want to gamble I think Gonzalez is the best pitch but he seems injured every year. Hanrahan is the best play IMO.
