Return to Draft, Trade, Keeper and Waivers Questions

I am in a head to head points league with 14 teams. My pitchers are Hamels (just sent home from spring training

) wainwright, AJ Burnett, Jered Weaver and John Danks. It sounds like Weaver isn't having that impressive of a spring and no one is expecting too much improvement out of him. Since I had dropped him from my team mid way through the season last year I am concerned that I will have to drop him again this year for nothing in return. The possibilities for Carpenter look so good that it seems like I could hit the jackpot if he stays healthy, plus if Hamels has a bad year I will need someone to pick up the slack. The catch is that we only have one DL spot and that is currently filled by A-Rod until who knows when. What are the chances that Carpenter has a better season than Weaver?
Any and all help is much appreciated.

Weaver is good, but Carpenter is not the Carpenter of 3 years ago. The guy might even close. I would question his endurance.
Go with Weaver-it's the safer bet...

"These go to 11".

Weaver struck out more batters per 9 innings last year than before, but his ERA went up a bit. I'd expect a bounceback for weaver for ERA into the high 3s. Carpenter is a huge wildcard, but the chance that he'll be a must-own player is slim. Go with the solid Weaver.

I would hang on to Weaver. I'm targeting him in the middle rounds of my keeper re-draft as a guy with some nice bounce back value. I won't be interested in Carpenter until he starts to perform DURING the regular season.
