I don't know why he changed his swing as compared to last year, or if he even knows he did. With all the video they watch of themselves I don't know how he can miss it. This year he is dropping his front shoulder DRASTICALLY, So much so, that he is missing underneath the ball on almost every swing I've studied of his this year. Even if he makes contact, he's going to get way underneath it. He needs to learn not to rock forward, then back solely with his upper body if he is going to drive the ball. He should use his legs for that. Until he notices that, I have a bad feeling about him going forward for the near future. I'm not one to change my opinion on a guy when we're only 5 games into the season, but when there's a noticeable flaw in his swing mechanics as compared to his past swing, it worries me a little. I don't care what his avg is this early in the season, but the mechanical flaw is definitely worrisome if it does not get corrected.

Thanks so much for that one, bigort. Don't suppose you'd elaborate on that so that we might be able to know what you're talking about?

I'd say most of the time, like 75% to be exact.

Exactly, you couldnt be more right.

If he had some sort of track record in the majors this thread wouldnt even exist.

To be fair I do not have faith in Davis, the entire reason I have him in 0 teams is his stats scream out .250 hitter to me. So a slow start isn't a huge surprise to me. I think his power is for real but the poor contact rates will kill his AVG as his LD% won't translate to the majors. His park and lineup pumps up his value some but he was just going too early for my blood.

To be honest if anyone is concerned about Chris Davis at this point they really didn't research him. These concerns were obvious this offseason when you drafted. He K's alot and he is going to be a hot/cold type player. Right now he's cold. Next week or next month he'll make up for cold spell.
