i had an older post with the question of who to grab with 4 pick in keeper draft. standard 5x5 scoring. my keepers already are bay/kemp/m cabrera/ pedroia/and longoria. with the fourth pick, i expect pujols rollins and howard to be gone before my pick, so teh options are: bj upton beltran holliday so far its about tied with about 3 votes apiece for these guys. forget about the fact its a keeper league, just thinking of this year, who should i grab??? thank you in advance.
Since you asked just for this year, I think I would go with Beltran. Pedroia and Kemp will give you some speed and Beltran will thrown in 20-25 SB's on his own.
Beltran's consistency is just so nice to have on your team. With Beltran, just pencil in 25+Hr's 110R's 110RBI's and enjoy. For this year alone, not sure that Upton will be topping those numbers, so why gamble.

I don't get these keeper leagues, how are Pujols, Howard, Rollins not kept by someone? I would take Upton even in a non-keeper over beltran. It is very close though, so why not take the better keeper.
to answer the question of how those guys were not kept is this...the round drafted is the round they count for the following year. so the guy who didnt keep pujols will have the first pick this year so he will im sure draft him again...and by doing that he gets to keep an additional keeper (as we only get to keep 5)...good question though.
